Parental Bereavement
(leave and pay)

Employed parents who lose a child aged below 18, or suffer a stillbirth from 24th week of pregnancy, will be entitled to 2 weeks paid leave when the Parental Leave and Pay Act 2018 (Royal Assent 13th Sept 2018) comes into force, probably in 2020.

The significant part of the Act is its Schedule which makes suitable amendments and additions to other Acts, notably the Employment Rights Act 1996 and the Social Security Contributions and Benefits Act 1992
